You must have a Zimbra Collaboration license to create accounts. When you purchase, renew, or change the Zimbra license, you must update the Zimbra server with the new license information.
You can run the Update License Wizard on the Configure>Global Settings License page, gear icon to upload a new license.
The Global Settings License page shows the current license status, including:
Company name for which the license was purchased.
License type. Regular means that the Zimbra license has been purchased for the number of accounts displayed in the Accounts Limit field. Trial means that a temporary license is being used.
License ID. The ID number for your license.
Issue date. The date that your license was created.
Effective date. The date the license subscription begins.
Expiration date. The date when your Zimbra license expires. When the license expires, you have 30 days to renew the license. Starting 30 days before the license expires, when you log on to the administration console, a reminder notice is displayed.
Accounts limit. The maximum number of accounts you can create and the number of accounts created are shown.
Mobile accounts limit. The maximum number of accounts that can have the mobile feature enabled.
MAPI accounts limit. The maximum number of accounts that can use Zimbra Connector for Microsoft Outlook (ZCO).
Archiving accounts limit. The maximum number of archive accounts that can be created. The archive feature must be installed.
Attachment indexing accounts limit.
SMIME accounts limit. The maximum number of Zimbra Web Client accounts that can have the S/MIME feature enabled.
Voice feature. Shows if the voice feature is enabled.
Activation ID. This is the ID generated by the Zimbra license server when you activate your license.
Activation fingerprint. This is the customer's unique system information which is used by the Zimbra license server to generate the activation signature.
Activation last update. This the last successful activation date.
Product version. The Zimbra Collaboration Server version.
